Case Study- Assignment Revision. Education Case Study
I. ASSIGNMENT REVISION: (USE STUDENT'S PROFILE & ASSESSMENT ANALYSIS)
This purpose of this assignment is to practice revising mathematical material to better fit student's needs and to implement what you are learning in this course.
Obtain a scanned copy or a detailed description of an original assignment or lesson given to your case study student by their math instructor.
Provide a detailed description of the changes you would make to this lesson or assignment keeping in mind the following:
Each change has to be rooted in either mathematical pedagogy you are learning in this course, and in information gathered on your case study student.
Each revision should be thoroughly justified and explained.
Format the changes you make as follows:
Revision #1: Detailed description of change and why.
Revision #2: Detailed description of change and why.
Revision #3: Detailed description of change and why.
Note. If there are not at least 3 revisions you would make to the assignment, substitute with an affirmation stating why part of the lesson confirms good mathematical pedagogy or specifically fits the needs of your student. The explanation of an affirmation should be detailed and justified.
Submit a compilation of the Student Profile, Assessment Analysis, and Assignment Revision as a Word document.
Consider making revisions from instructor feedback of your Student Profile and Assessment Analysis before submitting the assignment.
II. CASE STUDY–Unit Plan Lesson 1 (USE CSOE LESSON PLAN ATTACHMENT & UNIT PLAN MATRIX FROM WEEK 4)
Select one of your lesson ideas from the Unit Plan–Matrix assignment from Week 4.
Develop a full lesson plan using the CSOE Lesson PlanPreview the document template. You may choose to use your own template, however make sure all of the components from the HSOE Lesson Plan template are present.
Utilize at least one thing you learned from this course to inform your lesson design. This will most likely come from Ch. 4, Ch. 5, Ch. 6., Strand A, or Strand B, from Math Instruction for Students with Learning Problems.
Write a 150-to 200-word reflection of your lesson plan.
Include the following in your reflection:
How you incorporated something specific from the text, such as a visualizing strategy for mental math or how you deeply involved estimation in your lesson.
Why you thought it was important or applicable to your case study student.
Note. Do not just generally reference a chapter in the book, such as Strand A Number Sense, be specific.
Submit your lesson plan and reflection as one Word document
