JDA Software is a consultancy company founded in 1978 to provide software solutions for retail businesses. Later on, the company decided to become a full-service provider in global supply management. The company now deals to provide manufacturing and supply solutions, retail solutions, and service industry solutions.

One of the leading supply chain products offered by JDA company is Manufacturing and distribution solution. In recent years, many companies provide goods and services to other companies and customers through low-carbon distribution channels that reduce the impacts of climate change (Felicia Jackson, 2014). In 2010, JDA software was recognized by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine with a Green Supply Chain Award for its more Eco-friendly and sustainable supply chain operations. Channel captains like Wal-Mart advocate and challenges companies and suppliers to focus on practices that enhance environmental sustainability while adding value to customers over making profits (Greg Petro, 2020). Any company that do not follow sustainability prepositions such as reduction of carbon footprints in the distribution channels, Wal-Mart would seize ordering for supplies from them. According to researches, over five per cent of distribution companies decided to let go of suppliers who failed to record for carbon emissions (Daniel W. Baack, 2018). Also, above fifty per cent of companies are planning to provide eco-friendly products and services in the future.
