Science is a methodical procedure to acquire information. The final output is dependent on principles that naturally came to exist. People come up with claims periodically, and explaining the sophisticated phenomenon is essential to eliminate stigma and sprout clarification.
Treadmill desks made extraordinary sales with their entry into the market that sparked a lot of questions and researchers’ attention. While the company had already carried out their scientific study to prove the capability of the desk, it was necessary for other scientists to do the same to prove the eligibility. Replicability is the scientific principle, elaborating that if the same procedure is carried out in an initial scientific study, the findings should be identical. Researchers Dr. Don and Dr. Susan from Harvard carried out a study on 1000 initial and frequent users of the treadmill, and the results were inexplicable.
The experiment meant to determine brain activity while using the treadmill desk and sitting on a normal desk, proved that there was extra brain activity in the frontal lobe while using the treadmill. The sample population was able to correct irregular spelled words rightly in comparison to the other scenario. Conclusively, replicability is the dominant scientific principle proven by the case study (Lilienfeld, 2015).
Progressively, Pseudoscience features more of the claims that are under investigation rather than relying on confirmation and providing accurate information on a theory. Scientists describe it as the deceptive side of proving claims.
