Rationale
One can learn a lot by looking at a tourist’s fashion statement. In conjunction with this premise, it is easy to assert that how a person looks, mainly based on accessories and clothes, reflects their identity and personality. Besides, given that each person is part of society’s entirety, especially the community they belong to, it is definite that fashion is a crucial component in the advancement of culture. The general culture and belief manifested in clothes or other fashion statements that a population confines to echo the characteristics of the cultural environment (Hodges and Karpova, 2010). The focus of this present paper is to provide a brief discussion on the implication of fashion as a continuous change indicator in society and a mirror of the culture of a specific group.
Overall Aim of the Research
Fashion is an artistic expression intended to communicate subtleness notions. Therefore, an aesthetic order becomes generally perceived as a code; artistic work moves beyond this code while exploring its possible extensions and mutations (Sproles, 1981). The inventive aspect of fashion fosters various ways of expressing personality through other products available in the market. Besides, fashion is a cyclical reflection of cultural, social, and environmental characteristics unique to a given point in time and specific geographic setting, complementing self-image (Azuma and Fernie, 2003). Therefore, the study of fashion and psychology allows fashion enthusiasts to critically scrutinize the whole range of fashion physiology without prior prejudice toward any.
